MICHAEL HUDGINS WINS THE 2019 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® VIRGINIA REGIONAL SERIES
Manassas, VA – The best masons in Virginia came together to test their skill, speed and stamina by battling to see who could build the largest and best 26-foot-long brick wall in one hour. The competition was one of 24 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® Regional Series competitions to be held across North America in 2019. The winner of the each regional qualifies to compete in 2020 World Championship on February 5th, at the World of Concrete expo in Las Vegas.
Eight teams of masons and tenders lined the arena at Glen-Gery Brick Center in Manassas, VA ready to prove they’re the best craftsmen in their region. Mason Michael Hudgins and mason tender Jonathan Hudgins of Artisan Masonry in Chesapeake, VA took home top honors with a brick count of 465, winning a free trip to Las Vegas for the World Championship, a cash prize of $750, a Marshalltown tool bag, Stabila Level, $200 AMEX gift certificate from Ford and the title, “Virginia’s Best Bricklayer.”
Another local winner today was the American Cancer Society who raised $800 in raffle donations from a television provided by SPEC MIX.
