Lakewood – The 2019 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® Colorado Regional Series is back and in a new location. General Shale in Englewood, CO will host this year’s regional series event, one of 24 being held across North America. Teams of brick masons and tenders will battle for a trip to the World Championship at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas where they will have a shot at over $125,000 in cash and prizes, including a Ford F250 XLT 4X4 truck and John Deere Gator.
Last year’s regional event drew several teams of highly skilled bricklayers. Juan Cabral and Jose Limon celebrated with a brick count of 705. For their efforts, Cabral and Limon receive $750, a trip to Las Vegas and the title “Colorado’s’ Best Bricklayer.” They also took home the prize, SPEC MIX TOP CRAFTSMAN, which goes to the team with the “most sellable wall,” for this honor they received an extra $350. This was an improvement on their effort last year, when they took home second place, as well as the top craftsman award.
2nd place went to mason Jason Boll and his mason tender Louis Arjun of Creative Masonry in Denver, CO with a brick count of 638 earning them a prize of $400. Third place went to mason Francisco Banuelos and his mason tender Omar Mayrosa of Phoenix Masonry, Denver, CO who received $250.
