PROJECT TITLE: The Plaza
LOCATION: Neenah, WI
CONSTRUCTION MANAGER: Miron Construction
MASON CONTRACTOR: Miron Construction
DISTRIBUTOR: SPEC MIX
PRODUCTS USED: VM-06 Colored Polymer Modified Adhered Veneer Mortar
Capitalizing on the workability and bond strength of SPEC MIX Polymer Modified Adhered Veneer Mortar (PMAVM), Miron Construction masterminded a beautiful work of art for the patrons of Neenah, WI. Known as The Plaza, this massive public space was constructed with private funding using natural thin cut stone from a local quarry. The project took 18 pallets of 80 pound VM-06 custom colored polymer modified adhered veneer mortar to create a unique element of depth and style between the gaps of the stone.
The space will be utilized year-round, but will stand out in the winter when it converts into an ice skating park complete with concessions and a warming shelter.
“The PMAVM colored material had great workability and boardlife that the masons need. The key is mix it thoroughly, let it set, then hit it again for a minute and you’ve got mortar with high bond strength and total color consistency.” — Mark Cookle, Masonry Superintendent, Miron Construction
