2020 SPEC MIX NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL CHAMPION,
Mario Landeros started out in the masonry industry at a young age, helping out until he could improve enough to become a full-fledge mason. Since then, he has been working in the field for 18 years. We asked Landeros about what masonry means to him, he answered simply, “…Fullfillment, I like to work with my hands, to be able to finish my work and see the end result.”
He heard about the SMBL500 competition from his boss and decided to give it a try. He only practiced about four times for this regional and he has goals of winning it all in Vegas. When asked what he likes about the competition he replied with, “I like to compete at a fast pace, I am good at finishing my work on time”
“Everyday new equipment is made, working as a mason has become easier. Hopefully, in the future, even more new products can be made. Masonry is a great occupation, it has a great future as everyday new buildings and businesses are made,” says Landeros on his thoughts for the future of masonry.
