Marty Marrs is no stranger to the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 national stage. He’s been laying brick for over 20 years after his father got him started in the industry. Marrs didn’t practice at all for the competition this year as he has been so busy with work, there just hasn’t been the time to work in any extra reps. He’s hoping he can lean on his experience in the competition, along with his natural brick laying ability, to land a spot on the winners stage.

When asked about the future of masonry, Marrs revealed, “I feel like brick will never be out of style no matter what and how building styles change. Hopefully, we can get younger people interested in the trades, all building trades, because there is a major shortage of younger workers right now.”

2021 marked the 5th time Marrs has competed in a regionals competition and his 2nd time winning! He is excited to get back to Vegas to contend for the title “WORLD’S BEST BRICKLAYER” and hopefully drive home in a new Ford F250 4×4 truck.
