Grzegorz Goral and his tender Stefan Majercak are heading to Las Vegas for the third time as Illinois’ regional champions. While they haven’t yet taken home a prize on the national stage, they love competing, and make the most of their time in Las Vegas.

Goral was born in Rzeszow, Poland where he picked up his passion and skill for bricklaying. “My father was a bricklayer, and I saw a lot of guys doing it for a living, and I just fell in love with it,” he said. After working hard at his craft for about seven years, Goral decided he could build a better life for himself in America, so he took a chance, and moved overseas. He has been laying brick in the USA for the past 22 years.

Goral and Majercak both lay brick for Molloy Masonry in Chicago, IL. Majercak calls Goral the “go-to guy” on their jobsites. “If we don’t know what’s going on, he’s always got the answers,” Majercak said.

Married with two daughters, Goral hopes to get in a little extra practice before Las Vegas, and hopefully take home one of the coveted prizes.
